My week so far.
Hey sis, I mailed your CDs.Trini music for you! Sent yesterday.
I am steamed at some people on the MSA (muslim students association) on campus.
It actually prompted me to send an email on Tuesday that said a bit more than please be nice and polite when you’re discussing.
We had a fire alarm today…or a fire alarm malfunction.
If you remember the protest I was sort of taking part in, well in the beginning of March the university sent us a new bill with the unpaid $65 on it. They didn’t charge us a late fee and it was due on 20th April, 2004. Since we had not made any visible headway in getting the univeristy to repeal the inane fee, and I want to get out and graduate this semester and not be kicked out because of immigration problems and because I am a wimp, I paid it.
It seems our raises from a contract that was negotiated in 2001 are finally coming in on 7th May, 2004. However this does not include the retroactive pay. Most research assistants already received their raises out of their professors’ grants and such. The teaching assistants however were paid by the university and thus are owed money. I believe this affects me because I TA’d for three semesters which means I should get something for the last two. I am not positive. You would think I’m a steward for my union and that I would know…but I’m a lapsing steward (along with lapsing in other areas).
EDIT: I got it wrong – Raises come into effect from this paycheck. Retroactive pay for 1st January, 2004 to now comes in the 7th May, 2004 paycheck. If I read the information sheet, I will probably find out about the missing periods.
And my program is almost working. It has a little bug that I need to find before 11 am tomorrow.
And I am not a coffee person.
