still moving

well i moved out of my place (ie, i moved out all the BIG stuff) and my friends’ friend with a truck gained a new table for Valley Light Opera

i still have all the accumulated junk of three years cuz i’m a packrat…and i’m not very positive on my ability to clear/get rid of it all…

rachel has me installed and i haven’t seemed to start bugging her yet (or she hasn’t said anything…or we’ve not been around each other to do any mutual bothering yet…)
oh well…we did room with each other once before so…i’m sure she’ll say :-)

my neighbours returned my container which had truffles and she put more chocolates in it for me…yay…mmm….chocolate…

and now i must off to do what i *supposedly* came online to do…

ack..macs are interesting…
and i’m too scared to change anything cuz i might not be able to change it back…like i can’t seem to change it to dial-up with my login and such…grrr

oh and dial up is sooooooo slow
::sniffle::
going back home to dial up will be soooooo hard…

  1. Hey, Lily, hope the move goes okay.

  2. dial-up… Eek noooooooooooooo! ;_; Well I s’pose dial-up is better than no dial-up.

  3. Oh you poor thing…… If there’s nothing worse than a Mac…(becuase I never used one)…that would be a dial-up. I guess you’ll be uploading text only once you’ve moved back home… :(

But fear not…. it is not the end of the world. Not too long ago, that was all I had (47kb dial-up). I managed to get by OK. The Bandwidth seem to be maxing out all the time, maybe becuase nobody else was on it???? But I’m sure you’ll make out OK :) Think positive!

May the “Moving Gods” be on your side…. :dragon3:

  4. :dragon1::dragon2::dragon3::lily:

Nah, just teasing you with the dial-up thing :P

  5. I use a dial-up and never found the need to go broadband. Mind you the price differential over here is large. I would need a very good reason to spend that kind of money every month. My only real problem with it is large downloads, like about 50 MBs or more but I just put those on my download scheduler and download them when I go to bed. :) There are occasionally some web sites that give me gip MaThIbUs. Your little brother’s page is one of them. I sat there for bloody ages waiting for photo after photo after photo to load up. :( Now you’ve taught him a bit of HTML and CSS maybe you could show him how to limit the number of posts on a page. ;) Tell you what though – I’m glad I’ve got some sunglasses. :)

  6. LOL. Yeah, pages built with Web Standards are supposed to be light… But I couldn’t miss my DSL internet connection, really. I think once you used it (I’m talking for a month or so), you never want to go “back” to the dial-up days…

  7. Oh I tried it for about 6 months whilst I was staying at my sister’s. She has cable. It is excellent but the 512 costs about £30.00 a month plus about £60.00 for the modem although one or two companies chuck that in. and I don’t want to check the price of 1 Gig. I’m paying £15.00 a month so you’re talking double and for me I don’t think I would be getting double the value. Just the way I think. If it gets cheaper then I’ll start looking at it.

  8. thanks for all the good wishes people…:-)
i basically just have to make my apartment spotless now

and re dial-up v. broadband…i’m working on getting my parents to get adsl…
and i rarely sleep at night…so i’ll have to *remember* to start downloads in the day … sigh

  9. I did say when I go to bed. I didn’t say it was night-time ;)

  10. oh i know…but i was talking about myself…and usually after the night’s done…i forget things…and then ooo…shut down…eek

    :-P

  11. Oh! I’m sorry I deleted your login last night! I was so annoyed with the dial-up program on the Mac until I figured it out, but that was only AFTER I’d deleted all of the dail-up profiles in it.

And you’re not bothersome to me! You’re fun to have around. I like not coming back to an empty house. You’ll make it through the mountain in my living room if you’re brutal with yourself. Imagine living in a war zone…what would you take with you? Drop everything else. If you want something later, you’ll be able to find a copy from somewhere. :)

Though I am still getting used to your accent being around the house again. For some reason, my brain has never constructed an automatic parser for your particular accent and I usually need to stop doing whatever I’m doing in order to really figure out what you’re saying. I can kind of skim and get the general gist and (hopefully) make appropriate responses. :)

  12. lololololol
    you deleted my login?
do you mean the dial-up one?
no biggie…i think there was one on my profile…but but but…i can’t make the stupid mac internet connect use *my* login
it just uses yours even if i select mine…
i’m not too sure what’s going on!

ooo…so does this mean i can pretend i said something else so that your response wouldn’t be appropriate and then you’d feel silly?
    NEAT!

oh…imagine if i’d brought the other trinis here ever…how would you talk to them, hmmm?

oh but i need my books
    sniffle
for when my sister and i have a house to fight over
    booooooooooks
    and dvds
and buffy season 6 is out and i didn’t buy it cuz i didn’t want to be here now so…argh
    sniffle

    i wanna cook but don’t know what…
well i don’t actually want to cook but…

  13. Oh you are having fun aren’t you. Trying to find your way round someone else’s computer is a bind particularly if it’s a Mac and you’re used to a PC. And all whilst cleaning your old place. I’ve spotted you have another spammer by the way. I think you ought to upgrade. :(

  14. you know i was tempted to um, turn comment moderation on…*sigh*
well, let me find the ftp client on the mac first, k?
i’m not sure where it is
and i want a graphical one
    *sniffle*
