So, today Jamie and Rachel took me out for dinner today … I’m really not insane, the only reason I’m blogging this so quickly is to put up this picture before I forget :grin:

Anwayz, we had indian and I celebrated good bye to my pseudo-pesco-ovo-lacto-vegetarianism by having Fish Vindaloo and dreaming about chicken and lamb, specifically the meals in Jamie and Rachel’s plates :-)

And they got me this awesome gift…but that needs a whole post all to itself. It was awesome!!! WOOHOOO! Now I need a job…but more later :-D

Ooo, I also now have boxes to start packing books so I guess I should get cracking.

So Jamie’s friend, Dave has a road sign collection and since I had my camera with me, at Jamie’s request….le voilà:

about going home…

see! i knew i idealized it alot…
i know trinidad isn’t the best place…but i miss it so bad
and i know things happen here

but mom’s been emailing us and keeping us up-to-date and such and i’ve been reading the papers back home a bit more and there are so much killings and kidnappings…and this guy we sorta know was kidnapped and found burnt beyond recongnition….and other things..

i don’t want to go back home

i mean so what we don’t got money so nobody wants to kidnap us (some people think we do…some people think we don’t)
there are crazy people out there and i’m feeling very very very petrified

What have I been up to that’s kept me from guest blocking and posting at the WordPress support board and and general blog surfing?

Well…I go to these forums right. And I figured I’d try my hand at creating themes or colour schemes for them. Not that my CSS is the best but hey, it’s fun right?

Well, I’m going home as you may recall and I have lots of stuff to get done before I leave.

Oh and banks are strange. Last year when my bank started mailing copies of checks instead of the actual used checks back I messaged customer service on the online banking system where they said it costs now. I think they even said it costs for the copies. But I have a free checking account…oh well…
So I wandered into the branch and they said (can’t remember exactly) that it was a free checking account and there was never an option to get your checks back. I know banks change hands alot but…hey the lady who opened my account asked if I wanted them and I got them back for a year and change. So I wandered into Rachel’s lab and told her the new deal and so she called the customer service line and they said ah…see there are different rules for Massachusetts. And it’s free so we can’t charge you. We can’t get you back your checks that you missed that month but you can get your checks from now on. And she took our particulars and life was happy.

This is an old story but I figured backstory right.

This time, I wandered into the branch to ask about closing my account and if I would have to. She said some stuff and then went in and talked to people and basically said they’d give me some time with it but after seeing it’s not used and especially as I’m not in the area…I’d have to close it. They’d give me some time to get my stuff straightened out.

Considering my previous experience, I skipped the online customer service cuz I figure they deal with the big corporation instead of the massachusetts division. So called her and yay it’s all up to me and it’s okay and I can keep my account open! I have to give them my home address though. And I need new checks! wooohoooo! She checked her supervisor a few times too…

So, I can understand the online service not knowing all the details of the different states, but a branch in the state itself?? Oh well…
