i’m almost home :-)

my plane leaves in less than 7 hours, unfortunately i’m not totally packed yet ;-)

and i’m starving…which bodes *well* for flying…

I just read this.
(preamble: I’m moving out of Rachel’s house and Jamie is moving his stuff in so by the time the wedding comes around they’ll be done…I think. So alot of the books and CDs and DVDs are occupying the living room that I’ve got cluttered and so I looked at the books and found it..and read…uncharted territory of love and sex in the blurb and wandered into the kitchen and asked incredulously, “uncharted territory of sex?”

but he said it was quite good, which of course i was willing to believe since he’s loaned me some Connie Willis before and I liked them alot!)

Anywayz, it’s a nice light and funny scifi about two explorers (Fin and Carson). They together with their indigenous guide Bult and CJ, lady back at base wander around a planet charting territory…all the while they’re supposed to be very careful not to disturb the natural flora and fauna and not interfere with the indigenous population and their native guide Bult freely fines them for any and all infractions. The fines of course go into Bult’s and his people’s hands. It’s kinda like a Star Trek Prime Directive gone horribly wrong.

On the current expedition they have a visiting socioexozoologist (somebody who studies mating habits).

Well I’m no good at reviews but I liked it, nothing much changed from the beginning of the book to the end (well…some things did but…) and it was very amusing and confusing and a good read. I enjoyed it much more than I did packing boxes.

Oh wait, did I pack any boxes???

Rachel and Jamie went early to the post office and shipped my first set of boxes. There were 6 boxes of books and 1 box of clothes and it cost… $201.35.
*sigh*
and there are maybe two more boxes of books and two of clothes to go…

I think I got one box charged at the wrong rate though (M-Bag/Regular instead of M-Bag/Books). Oh well…
*sigh*

And I’m not done packing. I have all these little things … maybe two 15×12x12 boxes worth of them and don’t know where to fit them. And my DVD and CD cases. This all sucks!
*sigh*

I finally booked my ticket. I leave Wednesday morning at 6 and arrive in Trinidad about half past one in the evening.

YAY!

I haven’t shipped my stuff yet but sooon…and I still have some stuff to do.

Oh, and I have to tell my master’s paper reader that I won’t be around but…oh well…

And my family has me applying for a job. Wish me luck. I’m just not sure if luck is getting the job or not getting the job.

I miss home. I need to be home.

Well I’ve been a bit absent of late (okay alot absent of late).
I’m just sooo tired and have so much packing to do and work…and losing sleep..:(

So I finished my paper. I don’t think it’s good. The reader will start reading it on Wednesday and if I’m lucky she’ll like it. But I think it’s probably crap so I won’t be lucky.

I’ve finally seen Shrek 2 (and Puss in Boots is cute), Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (yay!) and went to see The Terminal yesterday.

On the subject of signs, my mom brought me some zam zam water when she came to visit in April and said to drink it. So sometime this week I poured some in a cup an promptly knocked the cup over and spilt it all, losing more than half of it. I’m sure it’s a sign. Maybe of bad things to come?

Oh and there is a murmur of a job back home. If I get it, I’ll take it as a sign too. You are probably wondering, “a sign of what?” … well just wonder…

I have to update my resume.

Oh, and this week I intend to book a ticket to fly home on either the 29th or 30th. I can’t wait to get home. My eyes hurt, I am tired and I just want to be home. Everybody except my eldest sibling will be home and she will come to visit for a bit since we’ll all be there.

I miss you all. I miss blogging. I miss commenting on blogs. I want to install plugins. grrrrrrrr

I can’t wait for the Firefly movie. I really loved the series but I guess I’m a Joss Whedon fan. I was greatly upset when it was cancelled…but movie!!!

I need to see this movie…on big screen and then get it on DVD and put it beside my series DVDs.

I was just doing a google image search to look at dragons (i’m *not* obsessed) and I found this page. I want to read it later…so here’s hoping I remember to…

My paper is not going well.
My programme is buggy.
I haven’t done any of the writing.
I suck I guess.
Oh well.
I’ve been killing time…staring at the silly computer.

On a happier note, if I’m awake enough later today, I will make a pineapple cake (provided of course I can find the right sized cake pans).

Maybe I’ll take pictures if I remember.

And my friends are coming back home today…I had intended to vacuum…
*sigh*

If my professor doesn’t kill me or start ignoring me soon, I will be lucky.

Oh…photoshop…oh…i want a computer…and maybe if I remember, i will do my mac rant later
