Cell phone shopping spree
My sister left today to go to Scotland on holiday.
So today we went out shopping for a Digicel pre-paid phone. We got a cute little motorola quad-band that should allow her to roam when she hits the UK (and even when she’s travelling for work). Anywayz this is what we hope and we eagerly await her reports, or should I say her texts when she hits Heathrow or else I will be *sorely* disappointed.
We left home at 11:30 in the morning and hit two Digicel stores and spent loads of money. Partly because quad-bands (even the cheapest one, not the RAZR because in truth neither of us like the RAZR) and partly because we wanted to fill up her phone with a sufficient amount of money to be able to roam and then some. Budgeting for phone calls you hope you don’t have to make is hard!
Just as we pulled out my dad called us…and was shocked to learn that we had only *just* left home because we had to leave at about 3:30 pm to get to the airport. But it turned out the real reason for his call wasn’t to check up on us, oh NO! He wanted us to buy he Digicel phone too.
*sigh*
He has promised to reimburse…
My sister of course, doesn’t live here and wants her credit card and such free and clear for her travels so…guess who paid for that. (Guess who also paid for gifts for her friends).
My poor credit card.
And for some odd reason, my cell phone kept ringing non-stop. People DON’T call me! But for some reason today…Okay, this was also partly because we told mom to call us because we were trying out Chennette’s old tri-band which acts very peculiarly in Guyana and she didn’t know if it was the phone dying or the network. Strangely enough it worked well on bMobile.
Even my bank called me. But they were trying to get my money…you know, don’t you *want* a loan? Don’t you need money? Don’t you want real estate? Do you have a car? How about another credit card?
*sigh*
I told her I really only want my limit raised. That seems to take a “come in” appointment tho. I did get her to go fix my telephone banking problems which are totally unrelated to loans but wasn’t she nice! LOL. I wonder if you have to come in for the other kinds of loans.
End Result: 3 new cell phones. *sigh* All in my name. It makes it possible for me to manage phone problems the absence of my sister tho.
And unfortunately we can’t send texts from Digicel to bMobile or bMobile to Digicel yet. I guess everyone will just have to get a Digicel phone. I think we can send texts to my brother tho…we just need him to be awake to respond.
Ooo! My father finally has a working screen. Colour too.
I really really really hope this pre-paid roaming works…or else…:-(
