I hate Firefox RC 3

I used to think I wanted little x’s on the tab like Camino and Safari but now I got them in Firefox I don’t like it. I hate having my hand travel through the tabs to close them as opposed to being stationary in one corner.

I hate how it doesn’t squish a lot of tabs in one line before extending (and tab mix creates a new line of tabs).

But what I really hate is how because of these x’s, I keep accidentally closing off a tab when I really want to switch to it. I don’t want to have to look and be careful that I’m not clicking on the invisible x to close the tab.

So…I HATE IT I HATE IT I HATE IT!

  1. You can add this to your list: It is buggy with FadoraCore5? Over half of the plug’ins are broken for some strage reason?
    GERRRrrrrrrr

*I know: take a happy pill*

  2. Seriously?

    *sigh*

Well, my Xubuntu now doesn’t work with my wireless.

    I say *yet* and pray

  3. Go to about:config

put tab in to the filter

    Set browser.tabs.closeButtons to 3

    enjoy

  4. Hey Joe! Thanks!
My friends emailed me this a couple days ago but haven’t had the chance to try it out or update it here.
I’m trying to see if I can live with the different tabs…it’s an experiment in conditioning :-)

  5. I changed:
browser.tabs.autoHide from true to false (because I hated the auto hide as that’s what kept causing me to accidentally close it)
    and
    browser.tabs.closeButtons from 1 to 3

  6. idiot me
what’s the point of stopping auto-hide if i proceed to remove the x’s

  7. Actually I was trying to get some of the plugins to work with FireFox on my FC5 machine and FireFox seemed not to work with any of them: Flash, Spellbinder, PDFs etc.. I just found out that it was the Kernel used with FC5 that is buggy! I just did a RECONFIG for each of the plugnis and they now work.

I’m upgrading to Fedora Core 6, now that it is out. They say it works a lot better with the latest Kernel–something like 1200 bug fixes in it.

  8. Oooo…FC6…I wonder what that looks like
    Good luck!
