Orchids, Orchids and a Rose

I’ve been busy uploading all my pictures from before going to Barbados.
So *very* tedious.
They’re not the greatest pictures but they are excited pictures as I was so happy to finally get my camera back. I got it around Easter I think.

Most of these are flower pictures. I was watering mom’s plants all the while she was in Barbados. I guess there is some benefit.

This is my whole orchid set so far.

So, here’s a selection :)

  1. Orchids 1, 2 and 4 are Dendrobiums and the colours can be seen from Lilandra’s beautiful photos.
The unknown Orchid Bud is htat of a Phalanopsis.
    So I have posted

  2. thanks!!

  3. What a lovely collection of flowering orchid plants. I’m amazed that you have so many of them outside in hanging baskets.

I have Cymbidiums in the garden under a tree, which are growing well but no flowers as yet.

  4. I will try to take a picture of mom’s setup.

We have a porch out front with grass/lawn/yard in front. At one wall she has ixoras and some other stuff. The border between the porch wall and the grass, she has pots with plants. I think she moved the orchids. Inside the porch she has a couple tall pots with orchids in them.

Then in the back, there is a back/outside porch. She used to hang tonnes of pots along the sides. And some on the ground. But the side where she hung all the orchids, she now has an iron shelf/spacesaver with three levels and she has lots of plants resting on them. It makes it much easier to get at them since it’s not a jungle hanging from that side.

On the opposite side, she has tonnes of greenery and all around the water tanks and some in the back yard too. She has stuff hanging from our old swing.

She also has plants all around the side of the house from the side of the outside backporch, wrapping around the inside backporch, to the side of the house all the way up to the wall of ixoras.

Some of her orchids haven’t flowered but…she keeps buying. It takes soooo long to water.

When they flower, take pictures? :)

This is the joy of living in the tropics? :)

  5. yay
i don’t need to be the documenter :-D

  6. hmph

  7. OOOH you forgot to take photos of my all year flowering bouganvilleas which are the ones around the water tanks and all along the side of the house to the Ixora shrub. And I have two and three colours in one pot and they look so pretty, so please take pics. And the pink and red ginger lilies…… And you have forgotten the Anthuriums which also flower all year round. Perhaps it is because you are always complaining that the anthurium filled vase on the kitchen table blocks your view and your eating space hehehehehe.
Many thanks for the lovely Orchid Photos and more to come in advance, now that you would have some more time on your hand as well as………..

  8. Hmm it’s that it’s on the table. I’m sure it’s bringing germs into the food.
