FREE! FREE AT LAST!!!

Sort of.
Today was my last working day at my current place.
Technically my last employed day is sometime next month…but I cleared out my desk (mostly), deleted my email (darn I should’ve deleted my account settings from Outlook but anywayz), deleted all my files (I hope! Did I forget something?), turned in my keys, gave in that silly flash drive and…left?

I also left things to be copied for the students who worry they won’t get a replacement teacher.

But FREE!!!!!!
Happiness.

Okay.
Of course I am a bit worried. Everybody likes money coming in. Not having an income any more is sort of worrisome but this is better for me for now! :)

And I’m technically on paid vacation now :)

  1. Pro Libertate!!!

  2. whee! :)

  3. Congratulations! :)

There’s something both satisfying and sad about clearing out from a job.

  4. yippeee!!!
    freedom indeed
my favourite parts about leaving jobs – no more bad feelings in the pit of your stomach when the phone rings, or when you go to check your email

  5. Thank you all!
Oh yes, now I don’t feel dread every time I see unknown caller or private number. It can just be dad and not work! I can safely answer the phone! :)

Terri, I did feel sort of sad. I’m going to miss teaching students. Control! Telling them how to program or else! :)

  6. Sometimes we need to move on and move on without a thought …..
My gut feeling is that this was such a place so move on lilandra and remember we will always be there for you Insha’Allah(God Willing).

  7. Now that you are free… you should start up your own I.T. corporation and charge a cazillian dollars for domestic and overseas markets for your expertise. Then once you have about a billion dollars in the Bank you can build the most super powerful computer in the world and run every business through it–charging even more money for your services. And then……..

…or, you can sit back and take the next couple of weeks off and enjoy yourself. Then once you are nice and rested, look for another job that you really like.

    Enjoy the unemployment bliss!

  8. ooooh both those ideas sound fun
    but i’m lazy
so i’ll do the second then the first, okay? :))

i crave the rest so bad!

  9. congrats!

and ditto what your sister said about no more bad feelings…

  10. Congratulations !!!!! I remember how great it felt when I left my ‘lovely’ job with the squatters. I felt so light and free, didn’t realise how much stress I was under.

Have fun, enjoy life, cook for Trinimom and TriniDad, visit us, enjoy every moment.

Congrats on the November issues as well – you’re gonna be pretty busy in an absolutely lovely way then.

Love to everyone. (I’m off to scrub the kitchen floor and the bathroom floor)

  11. ewe: yesss no more bad feelings! tho…i have to send off one more work related e-mail and i keep wondering if my students got a replacement…

    Hmmm: i made pizza!!!
yes, i think we should get an inflatable pool for someone!

  12. You’re earlier pizza pictures made me very hungry – they looked so good.
