Why am I still worrying…

whether my students got a replacement for me yet?

I gave work enough notice…I shouldn’t be worrying.

Maybe, I’m not worrying but wondering?

I don’t miss working at that place but I never hated the students (well maybe some individual ones who knows?) and if they don’t get a replacement I would be very sad. But, I should be free to not think of it! I should, right?

  1. Once you get busy again, the worry will ease – or you’ll be to busy to spend time dwelling on it. Worrying, to my mind, is a sign of good character.

  2. I worried when I left the summer teaching thing at the University. I worried that the students possibly hated me, thought I was the worst ever, disagreed about my grading and protested in my absence to the Dean. But nobody ever called me or emailed me. Except one girl whose grades were mistakenly not posted. SO I suppose either I was not that important, or I did an acceptable job. All I mean is, if there are problems, you’ll hear about them as your students know how to reach you.

  3. And I agree with Hmmmm, you don’t yet have anything else to occupy your mind and this was your work life for many many moons. It’ll pass. Just try to ignore the people calling out your name as you pass the campus…or walk through Chaguanas…

  4. Teaching does that to you , moreso when you always put the interests of your students first. And that is what you did and could not see how the students could be shortchanged by the administration of that place which calls itself a first class institution in the making……
This is one of the many reasons which made you leave in the first instance , the distance the administrators are from academia…… only lip service but not really in reality … the ones at the Campus where you were for certain.

So as soon as you get something else to occupy your mind the worry would be replaced hehehehehe….

But students you would always meet and all over the world as well…. After almost 40 years of teaching I can tell you….. on a plane to any part of the world you would meet them as well…….

  5. I don’t think your (former) students will take it personally. You had to do what you had to do…

Now find something to actually do!

    Vacations are always good.

  6. They got a replacement! Yay!
I hope it works out okay for them.

Well you know the major project going on downstairs and cleaning my room are…like…huge priorities! :D
