Lasagne
I love lasagne.
I mean really.
Seriously.
Even though it has cheese and I can’t take it…I do love it.
And since the advent of no-boil noodles, I’ve come to find it so easy to make. No more waiting forever for the noodles to boil. No more draining them out over the side of the colander and trying to pick the limp noodles apart. I mean it saves about an hour at least!
Okay…maybe, maybe not.
And when we boiled noodles, I was much younger and really it was Chennette or Sister, The Elder who really made it. I just helped pull the noodles apart.
And then as you may know, it’s just mom and me (and dad) at home and one day we had to make the lasagne for the boy (the boy who doesn’t just request lasagne when he comes home once a year from school far far away, but also baked lamb…on THE SAME DAY!)
And since we didn’t know the exact recipe my sisters used (man! I know they used béchamel! and i know i saw mom make it so i don’t know why she claimed ignorance that time!!!)…we did our own thing. We made our meat sauce and we made our white/cheese sauce (a.k.a kill Lilandra). It was good. Our cheese sauce had ricotta, milk, cream cheese and whatever other white melty thing we had. And we layered the noodles with the sauces and … cheddar!!! Of course, it tasted good but not great because our white sauce wasn’t seasoned enough for us. The next time we took care of that.
Each time it just gets better.

See other lasagne photos here.
But, next time I really should boil the noodles, at least for the great photo opportunity!
