Split Votes?
I don’t believe COP split the vote.
If you can’t keep the support of the people then you *lost* the vote on your own.
Maybe UNC-A split the vote … or should I say Panday. Maybe politicians should retire when they’re OLD just like other people have to.

and certainly when they’re old, decrepit and insane

Yeah, seeing these complaints about “COP split the vote”… You can’t call someone a “vote splitter” when they get more vote than you. Sure, PNM won some seats on a split vote.
Of course, someone who saw COP as pulling “UNC votes” should see the election as a no-confidence vote in the UNC. If a UNC supporter believes that COP split “UNC votes”, then they should take the polls as a clear statement that Panday must go. Anyone who thinks that Panday should stick around must acknowledge that COP voters didn’t “split the vote”, they exercised their rights as citizens.

But see, some people need Panday to tell them that people can exercise their rights and vote as they like. Since he didn’t…they won’t acknowledge that…oh no!
