Manicou Report already blogged about the return (questionable) of the Solo in the glass bottles.
Well it’s something we grew up with. Traditionally, it’s a doubles (or a roti) and a red solo.
But we both only got the banana solo :-(
Fortunately I love banana soft drink..or swee’drink.
I’m on a baking spreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee…:-)
I started with cheddar biscuits (refrigerator cookies) so they in the freezer now for whenever anybody wants to bake it.
I was going to make four things…a coffee cookie but when the shortbread recipe said to knead dough on some surface and i was faced with this drippy thing (maybe I melted the butter too much instead of softened) I was perplexed and worried. Maybe I measured the flour wrong. I didn’t want it to be floury so *sigh*
But it seems to be coming out okay…I just don’t know if it’s done yet.
The bagels are on their first rise. I was supposed to make the cookies while the bagels were rising. It’s probably time to separate/shape them now.
It’s hard being alone. Nobody to wash the wares or help or de-stress you when you think you’re baking too much. I wonder if I can still make the cookies?
Anywayz off to deal with bagels.
Don’t expect a lot of posts for me this month. I am *computer-less*.
Chennette has my powerbook.

When I first came to the web…regularly, yes I put a midi file on my website.
I soon came to *hate* sound on my website…especially unwanted sound that you couldn’t stop and I removed it from my website (tho it was still there…I think because I put it in my main frame page? YES FRAMES! okay! sheesh!)
I browsed in mute.
I got annoyed with most sounds on the computer and disabled them. I only wanted sound when I was actually listening to music or watching a video file. Otherwise no.
Now. I’ve progressed.
I HATE VIDEO.
Especially if you can’t download it and have to watch it streaming.
Flash video, Windows video, quicktime video it’s all the same.
I installed the flashblock plugin just to stop it.
I mean most videos come with sound…so that’s one annoyance…to be loading a page and all of a sudden you hear sound (and something slowing down your browser).
But videos are so annoying. Everybody has them … on their blog, their webpage, their news sites, their self help sites. Can’t you just post pictures? Link to a gallery? Why so much video. Leave them at youtube so if people go there they know they’ll get a video…don’t embed them to your site. It’s frustrating. (Okay maybe one or two a year embedded is fine).
Do you know how long it takes to watch that dratted thing? Do you know before it’s half way done I probably close the webpage and give up. I have to be truly dedicated to stay and wait. Which is why I’d prefer to download it. I hate that word *buffering*.
I guess nobody really cares what I think.
Maybe I wouldn’t gripe so much if I had better internet. I don’t know. But if you tell me I’m going to see leather tiles…show me a picture…not a video.
*sniffle*

I just took pictures of mom’s 50+ orchids.
Not artsy but for the purpose of cataloguing, classifying and figuring out what to do with the ones that might be dying or are in distress.
I guess a true photographer would’ve catalogued and taken awesome shots. Oh well.

I’ve never really made bread before, I don’t think.
Well, I’ve put things in the bread machine and let it do its stuff.
I’ve made pizza dough.
I love bread.
I love sandwiches.
I love our sandwich press.
Chennette said if I don’t want all my awesome sandwiches to look the same and I want to take pictures of them, then maybe I should start making my own bread…different kinds of bread.
Well, I haven’t actually started…or not because of that. I always *intend* to…but you know about intentions!
Mom and I, because of the food crisis, have been making our own bread. Whenever she sees flour she buys it…is that hoarding? Well it’s not hoarding if we use it. It’s cheaper to make our own bread than buy it…and we eat less of it when we make it because…well it’s more filling?

Last weekend the Trinidad and Tobago Orchid Society had their annual show.
On Sunday evening mom, dad and I went. It was held at San Fernando Technical Institute (now a part of UTT). There were two sections, the display or the show and sellers. The show was in their air conditioned hall and the stalls were setup outside in the corridors.
