Now, my theory as to why Patrick called a snap election…he preferred being beaten by the UNC/Alliance in a General Election rather than his own party turning on him. All roads lead to him not being PM so lesser of two “evils”?
Or maybe he really did believe PNM would win a landslide.

well…if he really couldn’t see the way the population was turning, he was clearly too far out of touch to remain as PM. I mean. He tried to say that kicking out the stawart MPs and replacing with new unknowns was the “change” the people wanted. Right.

The writing was on the wall for those who had eyes to see and it was very clear that Manning could not see his defeat at all…..even his close advisers whoever they maybe were also blinded by the truth…..
