Chennette informed me last night that the deadline for Click Citrus was extended until September 1st.
Now, I had noticed Click Citrus but I was so busy baking and such that I hadn’t really planned on entering. But when she reminded me about it, it occurred to me that I did have a citrus picture waiting in the sidelines (I have more pictures of this but not uploaded or fixed yet That post will follow soon) and that I could submit it.
But wait! It was supposed to be obviously citrus.
How did most people make their picture obviously citrus? Stick the fruit in the picture somehow. I didn’t like that. Really. I thought that’s like…hitting people over the head with it. But since I’m not sure about what qualifies, this morning, I figured I would try. There was also lime juice in the fridge and I wasn’t sure what would be the final entry (I also didn’t see why I had to put a lime in the picture for someone to know it’s lime juice. Hmph).
Anywayz so after Fajr, at around 6 am I took some pictures with the tripod and with a white ironed (!!!) pillowcase and tried. It seems I’m not accustomed to the light at that hour. You should see the original picture. Oh my. I only did white balance and levels adjustments and it looks like it was supposed to.
Ah, well, so this is my entry for Click August 2008: Citrus.
Wish me luck! :)
As promised, I took another photo shoot of my mango sorbet.
You can go to my homemade ice cream set to see more of my other frozen goodies.
We cut up 4 julie mangoes and 2 doodoose mangoes and then processed them in the food processor.
Afterwards, we added water, sugar and fresh lime juice.
Then, it was ready for the ice cream maker and tada! We got uber fresh, strong mango smelling sorbet.
It was lovely.
Or so I’m told.
I’m still squeamish about actually eating “processed” mango.
But it did taste good (you know ice cream and sorbet…always drips and melts on your fingers).
I am entering this in the Mango Mania competition at What’s For Lunch Honey.
So, I’m reblogging this for CLICK.
This CLICK is a very special edition. It’s also a fundraiser for Bri who was diagnosed with breast cancer. If you feel you can contribute, please do.
All the best Bri.
I took a picture of the red beans and rice mom made. I *love* red beans. Actually, I *love* beans. See how much I love them? My plate is swimming in beans :-)
I took this for the Click competition but still haven’t decided for sure which to submit. I have to the end of the month and will edit the post accordingly (link to click post etc etc).
So, which do you think? The first or…
Thanks muchly for your input! I still love the second too :-)
I’ll have to resize the second….
Well, how fortuitous. I started back taking pictures in time to enter Click: Au Naturel…and actually took a picture in that month.
Here, I’m submitting the lovely sweet potatoes mom and dad grew.
Wish me luck! :-)
So, I’ve decided to participate in a food competition, namely CLICK, where you submit a photograph of a themed food. This month’s theme is NOODLES!
I do have to make new lasagne for my other sister, but I doubt I’ll get it done before the 20th so…wish me luck! I’m entering a different picture of the lasagne I made and showed you last month…well I made it last month but showed it to you at the beginning of this month.
The current entries for the competition are here.
